PLEASE NOTE: AS OF 4 OCTOBER 2021, IF YOU ARE OVER 15 YEARS YOU MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED TO PARTICIPATE IN TENNIS ACTIVITIES!
Tennis Fiji is working to make sure our tennis community stays safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Tennis Fiji has gained accreditation from the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, Ministry of Sport and Youth and the Fiji National Sports Commission acknowledging that we have the appropriate guidelines, protocols and risk management plans in place. These guidelines, protocols and risk management plans are in place to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission and to ensure that we can act as quickly as possible in the case of an infection among our community.
The steps we have taken include the development of a player register, QR code at all tennis facilities, enforcing mask wearing at facilities, compulsory activities before participation in tennis activities, such as temperature testing and hand-washing, mandatory vaccination for the eligible population, and additional training for all staff members on health and hygiene measures. Please see the documentation below to view and download our Safe Sports Fiji 2021 accreditation, COVID-19 safe guidelines and protocols and COVID-19 safe training package.
As of October 2021 Tennis Fiji has re-started tennis activities in a limited capacity. Tennis is permitted at approved facilities around the country and singles, doubles, private coaching and group coaching are all permitted. Competition is not yet permitted and all development programs to schools and communities are cancelled until the future. Prior to the COVID-19 outbreak in April 2021 in Fiji, Tennis Fiji was working with communities and schools to include health and hygiene messaging within the development programs. See the videos below to view some of the activities our staff developed to keep communities safe, healthy and active during this time.
